Kyle Haines will embark on his third season as Director of Player Development after spending the 2018 season as Assistant Director Player Development of Instruction. In 2017, he served as the manager for the Richmond Flying Squirrels and was named “Best Manager Prospect” in the Eastern League by Baseball America. Haines also managed Salem-Keizer for two seasons (2015-2016).
Haines was selected by the Giants in the 31st round of the 2004 draft. He was a member of four championship teams in the minor leagues (2004 Arizona Rookie League Giants, 2005 & 2007 San Jose Giants, 2009 Akron Aeros). He was also named to the Double A Eastern League All-Star team in 2008.
Haines was selected by the Phillies in the Minor League Phase of the 2008 Rule Five Draft.
He graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology and Sports Management and also has an Associate’s Degree from Olney Central College. He played baseball for two years at Olney Central and two years at EIU.
