Did you know that 33% of Junior Giants players are girls?
To put this in perspective:
- About 6.7 million kids play youth baseball annually. Only 0.01% are girls.
- Of the 100,000 girls that play youth baseball, only 1,000 go on to play high school baseball.
While we're so proud to serve 33% girls, we have a bigger goal: for 50% of all Junior Giants to be female. And while we're excited to serve 24,000 youth each year, we know there are children in each of our communities that we haven't reached yet, and we can serve even more. How will we achieve this together? Offering softball through our Game ChangeHERS initiative.
